If you are thinking about having anyone else do your home inspection YOUR WRONG. Was completely blown away with how thorough and professional the inspection was. Was completed in a timely manner and was very easy to contact with questions before and after the process. Job Well Done!

Excellent customer service, very professional. We felt Coastal Inspection Services had our back when it came to our home inspection. They also conducted a mold inspection. We highly recommend Greg for a thorough home inspection and helpful information. You wont be disappointed.

Greg was Absolutely Fabulous! He was very thorough and knowledgeable. We felt at complete ease… and knew we were in the right hands immediately. He was informative, patient and answered all our questions. We received our report a couple hours after he had left our new home. We were delighted with the turn-around time and how detailed it was. All-in-All… If we could give Greg more than 10 Stars… We would! Thank you, Greg… You were an absolute pleasure to work with on our home inspection!

Eric & Sara R

Very thorough and detailed oriented. Was friendly and very easy to talk to about discrepancies found and issues. Very honoring of other people when discussing previous contractor’s “less than ideal” work on an issue that was found during inspection. Would recommend and hire again if needed!

H. Hudgins

We continue to feel that Greg is the best! He has saved us from making some terrible mistakes and he has helped us assess several properties. We appreciate his hard work and professionalism and trust him completely!

Completely professional and very thorough! Best inspection I’ve ever had. Really on the side of the buyer!

Cheryl G.

I’ve worked with several home inspectors and Greg Murphy exceeds the best! He’s thorough, explains each system after it’s been inspected and then gives you a full summary at the end. I’d HIGHLY recommend Greg!

Ten Things to Know About Mold

  1. Potential health effects and symptoms associated with mold exposures include allergic reactions, asthma and other respiratory complaints.
  2. There is no practical way to eliminate all mold and mold spores in the indoor environment; the way to control indoor mold growth is to control moisture.
  3. If mold is a problem in your home or school, you must clean up the mold and eliminate sources of moisture.
  4. Fix the source of the water problem or leak to prevent mold growth.
  5. Reduce indoor humidity (to 30-60%) to decrease mold growth by:
    • Venting bathrooms, dryers and other moisture-generating sources to the outside
    • Using air conditioners and de-humidifiers
    • Increasing ventilation
    • Using exhaust fans whenever cooking, dishwashing and cleaning
  6. Clean and dry any damp or wet building materials and furnishings within 24-48 hours to prevent mold growth.
  7. Clean mold off hard surfaces with water and detergent, and dry completely. Absorbent materials such as ceiling tiles, that are moldy, may need to be replaced.
  8. Prevent condensation: Reduce the potential for condensation on cold surfaces (i.e., windows, piping, exterior walls, roof, or floors) by adding insulation.
  9. In areas where there is a perpetual moisture problem, do not install carpeting (i.e., by drinking fountains, by classroom sinks, or on concrete floors with leaks or frequent condensation).
  10. Molds can be found almost anywhere; they can grow on virtually any substance, providing moisture is present. There are molds that can grow on wood, paper, carpet, and foods.

Please be aware that if your house has a yellow colored flexible gas piping called CSST (Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing) then it needs to be properly bonded.
